Ol’ Satao walked this dusty earth On the open grasslands of his Kenyan birth For over 40 years he made his home On the Tsavo and Galana where he did roam
When Ol’ Satao took his last step
The oceans cried, the rivers wept
The sun disappeared too sad to set
All the Animals bowed their heads
His mighty tusks known far and wide
Became a source of national pride
But Ol’ Satao knew he had to hide
For evil lurked along the riverside
The jungle never heard such a sound
As when Ol’ Satao came crashin’ down
His mighty body so shook the ground
You could feel it from a hundred miles around
Did God really give to man
Dominion of His most holy land
Where animals kill to eat
But they’re not advanced enough to kill for greed
Pray for heaven where Satao may dwell
So far away from this worldly hell
That his senseless passin’ just might may
Keep all his brothers and sisters from slippin’ away
The jungle never heard such a sound
As when Ol’ Satao came crashin’ down
His mighty body so shook the ground
You could feel it from a hundred miles around
When Ol’ Satao took his last step
The oceans cried, the rivers wept
The sun disappeared too sad to set
All the Animals bowed their heads
